Creating your own Site Content and Structure Reports

Posted on 14 March 2012 by Tony

The “Site Content and Structure” reports are a great way of finding files which are pending approval or checked out but I just realised you can create your own reports.

If you have never seen these reports before:

Go to site settings –> Site Administration –> Content and structure

New ebooks: Getting Started

Posted on 21 August 2011 by Tony

Thank you for your input on my previous blog post about e-reader formats.

Two of our downloadable books are now available as .mobi and .epub files, the most requested formats. Click the following links to go to the main download page, and then click Download next to the format of your choice.

Getting Started with SharePoint Server 2010

Getting Started with SharePoint Foundation 2010

The easiest way to get the books to your e-reader is probably to use the USB cable to transfer the files from your computer to your e-reader. If you find a better way, please share in the comments. Also, I’d love feedback about the format of the books, and requests for specific books to convert next.

That’s Why I Use SharePoint

Posted on 14 August 2011 by

Ever spill coffee on your computer only to lose important files, or end a document title with -version 6 only to send -version 5?  Then SharePoint can help! This week, we launched iusesharepoint.com a new SharePoint website dedicated to inspiring everyday business users to do more with SharePoint 2010 by demonstrating how it can help make the work day just a little smoother. I Use SharePoint visitors will find humorous webisodes, how-to videos, quick reference cards, tips and tricks and success stories from everyday users.

Changing the way you work can be a challenge, so we have created two different adoption kits to help you and your organization get more out of SharePoint. In option A you will find a white paper on adoption strategies, a lunch themed SharePoint template, webisodes, show me how videos, a tips and tricks sheet and quick reference cards.  The highlight of this kit is the lunch and learn site template where users can familiarize themselves with meeting workspaces, blogs, wikis, discussion boards on a topic is near and dear to everyone-Lunch.  Option B is perfect if your organization already has an established resource hub to place all of the new content.  With both kits you will find, customizable poster, email and table tent templates to drive users to these new resources.

Here’s to an easier work week with SharePoint 2010!
