What should be the Subject Line of the email that i am going to send to a prospective client?

Posted on 24 October 2009 by

I am going to send an email to a prospective client introducing him to our company, what we do and what we offer? FYI. We are IT Consultants and create tailored solutions for small & medium sized business houses using SharePoint and System Center.

We want him to read our email and go through it.
We do not want him to delete the email without even opening it.

So I am looking for some attractive Subject Line for this email.

Any suggestion, link, article etc will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

Chosen Answer:

I would be honest about what you are offering him. If they are interested then they will open the email and read what you have to offer.

However if you approach them with a misleading subject line then they will not be happy when they find out they have been mislead!

How can me and my colleagues share and tag our collective emails?

Posted on 21 October 2009 by

At my firm, me and my colleagues have to save our emails manually to a server. On that server, we have folders pertaining to each job number. We have correspondence in and out folders. Each time we get ANY email, we have to manually save that email in a folder on that server, manually rename the file to [job#][ ][yyyy.mm.dd][ ][email to/from initials][ ][description]. this is the most tedious and wasteful part of my job.

Is there a way to share all of our emails in a common database where we can tag emails (almost like filters in gmail) and be able to sort by job number and see all of our collective emails.

We would need to maintain the ability to sort by job number, date, sender…

Does microsoft offer some product (i.e. maybe sharepoint or something similar) that would allow us to share email without having to go through the arduous process of manually saving?

tagging would be much easier, and seeing all the emails sorted like outlook sorts email would be fantastic.

thanks VERY much for any advice.

Has anyone ever used sharepoint to create an intranet page?

Posted on 08 October 2009 by

I am looking to create an intranet page where i can load quick set-up guides for equipment and articles which could help people with there job i.e. a reference library. What are peoples experiences of using sharepoint??

Chosen Answer:

I have created over 60 SharePoint Intranets for different uses and staff key positions. All have had positive feedback. Instructions libraries by subweb have worked best for me with them based on discipline.

I would suggest into looking at a free trial offer from someone like InfoShare SharePoint Hosting.
